A new Ford-approved or original equipment manufacturer option is installed, and we snap the key fob back together. After the job is completed, we verify the fob is still functioning at 100% and that no additional work is needed, such as the reprogramming of the fob. While the fob is opened, we also double-check to see if the interior needs to be cleared of any dirt and debris.

How Lomg do Key Fob Batteries Usually Last on Ford Vehicles?

The average range for key fob battery life is three to four years. However, your battery can last much longer. Warning signs of a dying battery include a declining signal range and imperfect response. In other words, if you could previously unlock your car or pop the trunk walking out of the grocery store but now need to be two car stalls away, it's possible a change is needed.
